And boom goes the dynamite.
I’m done with work.  Because of the holiday weekend, my company let people leave at 3pm.  Most people are already gone. Finished the week out with a couple of 12 hour days, and a few national presentations.  Next week, I head back out to California for a week of meetings.  While there, I’ll ask my old boss if they’ll be a reference for me, and start haunting the offices of other...

Dear Loudmouth, part 2
Where is the chase, and how can I cut to it? If you insist on opening your damn mouth to ‘offer a quick comment’, make it quick.

What?
Someone in my class is trying to describe the science of racism. He is failing, but pressing on anyway. I can’t make this stop. I really wish the presenters wouldn’t ask for audience input.

Learnin' with MMLTD
I’m at a training session today for my certification. It should be, well, it should be a day of forgettable material, but I’m hoping to network a bit, snipe for jobs or job ideas, and generally have a day out of the office. I have my resume in fighting shape, and I’ve started hunting in earnest. This will not be fun. Actually, it very well could be, if I choose not to put so...

Yup
texnessa replied your post Learnin Things - Lynda.com sharepoint is for people who dont understand how to implement and maintain naming conventions and driver/password maintained security access. one naming and access nazi negate the need for unwieldy third party crap. in my not very humble opinion. I completely agree, that’s how it’s most frequently used.  In most cases, people...

Learnin' Things - Lynda.com
I need / want to learn how to use SharePoint, and a few other programs, and I’m considering using Lynda.com.  But it costs money, and the monthly vig is enough to slow me down and reconsider.  Has anyone used it before?  Are the classes worth the monthly price of admission?

laughterkey replied to your post: Shocking You a cube big enough to pace in? Color me jealous. Not really.  My cubicle is about 8’ x 8’.  My desk cuts that down a bunch.  I pace in small, tight circles.  It’s basically spinning with a few extra steps. jennhoney replied to your post: Shocking your mutant powers are manifesting! Shocking
I just built up so much static electricity by pacing around my cubicle that the shock I created when i touched my headset turned off my phone and caused it to reboot and go into maintenance mode (I have a Cisco VoIP phone at work). This was not intentional. How’s your day?

I got nothing
It’s 8:30am, and I’m sitting on the couch watching netflix.  I made breakfast burritos.  I’m on coffee #2.  My work computer is collecting dust in my bag.  We’ve entered ‘Day Off’ territory, kids.  Good luck everyone else.

Interviews: From the wrong side of the table
I have two interviews today.  Unfortunately, I’m the interviewer, not -ee.  My department is still trying to hire for a position that we’ve not exactly had a huge amount of luck finding candidates.   Hopefully today’s interviews don’t result in HR policy changes. Good luck everyone else.  And to the candidates.

gingeredjess answered your question: Smart Tech Done Dumb This is all I can find: support.webex.com/suppo… Thanks for the link.  The trouble is, when WebEx refers to ‘computer audio’, they’re really referring to their proprietary VoIP connection they have for web connections.  The software seems to be expecting audio only from a ‘Mic’ connection, which would either...

Smart Tech Done Dumb
This morning, I’m on a Webcast presentation.  The edict from my workgroup was to join the presentation, open up a WebEx session, and record the first half of the day’s materials, because my West Coast co-workers weren’t going to be up and online by 5am PST.  8am for me is fine.   Trouble is, this is a WebCast, meaning there’s not phone dial-in.  Were this a conference...

SCIENCE!
Mrs. MMLTD is leaving for a work trip / fun trip tomorrow at the crack of dawn, so she’s gone to bed.  I’m not going to bed yet because I have no desire to awake up at 3am. So I’m alone in my living room, watching Factory Made on the Science Channel.  I feel like I could be much more productive, but I can’t… look … away.

Ready Fire Aim
I’m done for the day.  I’m heading home to work on my resume.  Probably should have done that before I applied for a job, but too late for that.  I did a heavy edit pass while on my last work trip, so hopefully that’s good enough for this first one. Good luck everyone else.
