Dammit
I screwed up. I gave too much information to someone in a meeting, and I can’t reel him back from a wrong direction. I literally botched this meeting in the first 5 minutes, and can’t correct it. This guy has completely gone off on a wild tangent.
I want a reset button for this meeting.

Better
My boss took my 7pm meeting for me so I was able to go home at 5pm. I spent my evening hanging with Mrs. MMLTD and learning Jonathan Coulton songs on ukulele.
Much better than being stuck in rainy traffic like I was 24 hours ago.

Not Even Close and No Cigar
Today’s meetings run from 2-4pm, and from 5-8pm. I tried to leave the office at 4pm and drive the 18 miles home before my 5pm meeting.
Tried.
I drove 2 miles in 20 minutes due to the heavy traffic around my office. I wound up turning around and going back because I wouldn’t be stationary in time for this conference call.
If you need me, I’ll be here. At my desk. Forever.

My brother is moving cross country. He and his family have already flown out. Well, most of the family. His dog is still in his former city. An older dog, flying doesn’t agree with him. And there are no direct flights from there to the new city.

My training broke for lunch. The speaker walked out of the room. A moment later, we heard coughing over the room speakers. He was still wearing his mic, and it was on.
We almost had a spectacular first-person bathroom play-by-play were it not for a last minute intervention by one of the conference coordinators.

Welcome to Conference Call Day
I have 8 hours of conference calls today. All on West Coast time. So that means from noon until 8pm ET, US time. So I’m working from home today.
I did everything I could to not start working at 7:30am this morning. I started at 10am. And all that time this morning, my brain was screaming at me that I was a bad employee, that I was somehow taking advantage of my job. It’s weird...

Where is my Mind?

Okay, so the phone seems to be working well enough… for now. As BaffledInBrooklyn can attest, long has been my feud with phones.
